China Three Gorges Spain and the University of Salamanca (USAL) celebrated the launch of the CTG scholarship program, which aims to provide scholarships to interested graduates of the University of Salamanca who want to study a master’s degree in Chinese universities.
The agreement, endorsed by the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies, Nicolás Rodríguez, and the Executive Vice President of China Three Gorges Spain, Yuanjie Tang, covers the financing and organization of master’s degree studies in China for graduates of the University of Salamanca. The launch ceremony was attended by Paula Cotza, a graduate in East Asian Studies from USAL, who has enrolled this year in a master’s degree in History and Cultures of China at Fudan University as the first beneficiary of the CTG Sponsorship program.
The protocol of the agreement, establishes that the scholarship recipients must have some basic knowledge of Chinese language and culture, and allows students to study any type of master within a Chinese University. For this purpose, China Three Gorges Spain provides €27,500 per beneficiary, distributed in twenty-four monthly payments.
This scholarship agreement with USAL is the first signed by China Three Gorges in Spain. In Portugal, the company has been carrying out the same initiative since 2016 and has agreements with eight Portuguese universities.
The event was also attended by Manuel Gómez De la Aleja, USAL’s dean of the Faculty of Philology,Teresa Tejeda, professor of the Department of Modern Philology; and on behalf of China Three Gorges Spain, its administration manager, Zhao Wanyi, and the head of communication and branding, Jodie Brush.
